Anna Hazare, the renowned Indian social activist has announced a day long rally of disgruntled farmers opposing the Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013 Bill. He will hold this rally on 24th February at Delhi Jantar Mantar.
Apart from noted social activist Medha Patkar, various other organisations will also participate in the rally. Anna Hazare has severely criticized this bill as anti farmer and beneficial towards corporate lobby.
AAP Maharashtra unit has hinted about their support to this rally. Riding on the recent success in Delhi, AAP will surely want to gain maximum nationwide visibility from this agitation. However, Anna Hazare seems to distance him self from party chief Arvind Kejriwal by choosing not to attend his swearing-in ceremony on 14th February 2015 at Ramlila Maidan, New Delhi despite the CM personally extending an invitation to him.
